The Green Thread
Kiln formed glass
41" x 20" x 5"
Weave has an allegorical function throughout my work— it references the body, societal fabric, records, domestic labor, illusion and the veil between realities.
The Green Thread refers to the title of Michael Marder’s interdisciplinary collection of essays in dialogue with the vegetal world. This tapestry-book of woven pages tells of landscape, deltas, veins and roots in an undulation of tangled memory.
Weaving glass, as with any fibers, is a labor of love. The formation of this piece is the result of hours of pulling cane, and more than twelve kiln firings.
