A set of three 'classic' besom forms made of glass with copper handles. The holders for these brooms are inspired by Amish broom holder design. To create these forms, I hand pulled cane (the bristles) and made glass powder. I sifted the powder onto a zircar kiln shelf and fired it in the kiln repeatedly until I got the texture I liked, then fused the cane to the edges of thin glass sheet. I then added the copper tube to the next firing and when it was at 1330 F I opened the kiln and manipulated the glass around the bottom of the copper tube to get the form I desired.
